I’ve figured out how I can make my Dashboard layout be more than just one week a month using the dashboard – Crafty Plans!
If I use the Errands section for the weekly ‘I want to get these done’ list, and the Focus section for ‘think about these crafts you want to do’, and the small daily box on the week side for ‘what I actually did this day’, then maybe I can get more planning done, and more crafting!

Anyone who’s met me, has probably met me due to my involvement with the Society of Creative Anachronism. It’s a living history group that’s a lot of fun. Now, during these Plague times, we haven’t been doing the things we usually do, but that just means we all have a ton of time to make all of the things we enjoy.
It’s a group where you get dressed up in a reasonable facsimile of clothing from between the dawn of man and 1603. And by reasonable, it’s supposed to mean that if you take a bedsheet and make it into a tunic and wear some scrub or pj pants, it works. 🙂 there are people who work towards as absolutely accurate as possible, but most people settle in to a comfortable blend of modern comfort and historical adequacy.

I had a wonderful offer from a dear friend, Vittoria. She’s amazing – She knows so much about crafting medieval and renaissance clothing that it boggles my mind sometimes..
So she offered a huge deal – to teach me how to make my own garb, patterns and all, from the skin out. By hand. If I do this, by hand, and using things like linen and silk and such for all threads and fabric, she’ll help me. Amazing, right? Also, I must blog it. 🙂
What makes it more awesome (not that much could, because WOW!!!! Learning from someone who’s a MASTER!) She also offered, if i do this project…. BEAUTIFUL fabric for the overdress… 🙂
So, there’ll be a new page up here in a minute, the Garb of Amazing Handsewingness, to help track some of my progress.
So far – List of articles I want to make, and ordering 5 yards of white linen for the underpants! 🙂
It will be SO AMAZINGLY FUN… 🙂
